U-Gen ("we", "us", "our") operates the U-Gen platform connecting UGC creators with brands in Egypt and the MENA region. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account data: Name, email address, role (creator or brand), and profile information you provide.
  • Content: Portfolio items, deal communications, and reviews you submit through the platform.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and device/browser type for platform improvement.
  • Payment data: Deal amounts and budget figures you or the other party enter, used for tracking and display on your dashboard. U-Gen does not process, hold, or handle any actual payment — money changes hands directly between you and the other party, outside the platform.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate the platform and connect creators with brands.
  • To send important notifications about your deals, offers, and payments.
  • To improve the platform based on how people use it.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not run ads.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. We retain your data as long as your account is active.

4. Your Rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing hello@u-gen.io. We will respond within 7 business days.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (theme, language). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Terms of Service

By using U-Gen you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

1. The Platform

U-Gen is a marketplace that connects UGC creators with brands for paid content collaborations. We facilitate the connection — we are not a party to the creative agreements or payment arrangements between creators and brands.

2. Creator Responsibilities

  • You must be 18 years or older to use U-Gen.
  • Content you submit must be original work that you created and own.
  • You must deliver content within the agreed deadline and to the agreed brief.
  • You may not complete deals outside the platform to avoid fees on deals initiated through U-Gen.

3. Brand Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for agreeing on budget, timeline, and deliverables directly with the creator.
  • U-Gen does not currently process, hold, or guarantee any payment between parties — all payment terms and timing are agreed directly between you and the creator.
  • U-Gen personally coordinates the introduction and initial details for UGC creator deals via WhatsApp, but is not a party to the resulting payment arrangement.

4. Current Pricing

UGC creators always use U-Gen for free — no fees, no commission, ever. Business owners get a Free plan (a limited number of direct offers and open briefs per month) with an optional U-Gen Pro upgrade (EGP 149/month) for higher volume. Neither plan charges a commission, listing fee, or transaction fee on deals — U-Gen does not process, hold, or guarantee payment for any deal, and all payment terms are agreed directly between the business and the creator. Pricing may change in the future as the platform grows; any changes will be communicated in advance.

5. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises between a creator and brand, contact us at hello@u-gen.io. We will review the case and make a final decision within 3 business days.

6. Content Rights

Upon completion and full payment, the brand receives a non-exclusive license to use the delivered content for the purposes agreed in the brief. The creator retains ownership of the underlying creative work.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraud, or harm other users of the platform.

How to Write a Brief That Gets Results

1. Be specific about the product, not just the ask

"Make a UGC video" tells a creator nothing. "Film yourself unboxing our vitamin C serum, show the texture on your hand, and mention it's fragrance-free" gives them something to actually shoot.

2. Show, don't just describe

This is exactly why the Reference Video field exists on the offer form — a 20-second clip of a style you like communicates more than three paragraphs of adjectives.

3. Say what must be included, separately from the vibe

A discount code, a claim, a feature — if it's non-negotiable, say so plainly. Mixing "must mention SAVE20" into a paragraph about tone is how it gets missed.

4. A real example
"We're launching a matte lip oil in 3 shades. Looking for a casual, get-ready-with-me style video — film in natural light, show the product going on lips, and mention it lasts through a meal. Keep it under 30 seconds, no hard sell, just genuine reaction. Must mention: vegan, cruelty-free."
5. Budget honestly

A fair budget attracts creators who actually want the work, not just anyone willing to take anything. If you're unsure what's reasonable, ask U-Gen directly on WhatsApp before sending the offer.
